"Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings." William Arthur Ward
It is natural to feel as if life seems to be knocking you around a little more than usual. Whenever I feel this way I have found beginning and ending my day with gratitude seems to create a shift in the universe for me. Taking time each morning before looking at my phone or even getting out of bed to silently notice all that I have to be grateful for. Ending my day with acknowledgement for my life and the gifts in it.
If you feel you have nothing to be grateful for here are some gentle reminders. Take a deep breath in and out. I know too many people who have lost their breath way to early in life. You are reading this you have the internet, your sight and the ability to read, even more to be grateful for. It becomes too easy to see all we are missing and in doing so we fail to notice all we have.
If your life isn't going according to plan than make a plan to make a change. Begin small. Maybe change your routine or add something new to your routine like a gratitude journal. Maybe walk to the store instead of driving or take a different route. You could wake up early and witness a sunrise or take the time to watch the sunset. Change your soaps or try a new candle in your home to awaken your senses.
Even small changes remind us that we always have the power to shift our life. Like water our life is fluid and moving. We can redirect our lives by considering what we appreciate and focus on and changing that focus.
What small changes can you make to alter your routine and find gratitude in your life?
